Berlin Wall Museum

The Berlin Wall Museum, Haus am Checkpoint Charlie, displays a permanent exhibition on the history of the Berlin Wall and on the international fight for human rights, including many objects used by fugitives and their helpers in their escape from former East Berlin.

In the Berlin Wall Museum you can examine original artifacts used during many of the infamous escapes from East Germany – from escape cars, to hot air balloons, from homemade mini-submarines to deceptively hollow surfboards. The Berlin Wall Museum’s permanent exhibition is a testament to the ingenuity of the human mind when faced with perilous circumstances.
