Europe’s administrative football body UEFA announced that Berlin’s famous Olympic Stadium will host the Champions League final for the first time in 2015.

The stadium in western Berlin was originally built for the 1936 Olympic Games and is currently home to local football team Hertha BSC Berlin.

Renovation and remodeling have made the Olympic Stadium not only a top-rate sporting arena, especially for German and international soccer matches, but a popular venue for concerts and other large-scale events. The new Olympic Stadium has the highest all-seated capacity in Germany at 74,500.
